Can you serve two ‘Gods’?

Can you serve two ‘Gods’?

“You cannot serve both God and money”. (Mat 6:19-21)

God love to help they who strive to help themselves. This is a topic (‘Gods’), that some people do not want to get into.

It stirs up a mental dilemmas; like who or what is ‘Gods’.

People are abandoning ‘God’! The Creator.

Replacing the ‘Creator’ (Which you cannot) with money.

So can you serve two ‘gods’?

No servant can serve two masters.

Either they will hate the one and love the other; or they will be devoted to the one and despise the other.

You cannot serve both God and money.

Physical ‘god’ or Spiritual ‘God’!

There is a test that comes with modern-day life, in that poverty is a physical danger and prosperity can be a spiritual danger.

We often traverse through both, for the purpose of enlightenment and we should educate our offspring accordingly.

Poverty humbles while wealth exalts, it is better to be content whatever the circumstances.

Why save riches for yourself which moths and rust destroy; if the robbers don’t get there first!

I am not only talking about the ones who break into your home/business, but also those who are legal thieves.

Wealth is a transitory power and money goes from hand-to-hand, so their value is primarily as a defence against happenstance.

If you love money you will never have enough, same with wealth as you will always require more!

Your turnover should never be stagnant in business because when goods increase, so does them that consume.

To the extent that it is now said that “capitalism is the new religion and money is their ‘god’.

The banks are their church and bankers determine your credibility.

Their priests; is their manipulating media (bible).

Capitalism quote by Miguel D. Lewis

Capitalism is a religion?

The youth growing up today look towards money as their saviour.

Some do not know whether ‘god’ is a Google keyword or a ‘Whats App’ acronym.

“The LOVE of money is the root of all evil”

The thing is; money is a necessity in modern-day life and therefore a good understanding of it is needed.

A viewpoint of this can be found in a post by ‘FMvocal’ who has got all the money?

What I am saying is that in life, you need to prepare yourself for the choices that will befall you.

Thereby focusing on your spiritual health; so as to manage both wealth and misfortune.

I always tell people, “money is manufactured at the Mint and will inevitably return there”. (give unto caesar).

Choices!!!

Does it make you a better person?

The person you are is measured not by money but by your character, integrity, knowledge and the actions you take in life.

If you had to choose what was more important to you between:

1) Love
2) Sex
3) Money
4) God

Which one do you think you could not do without?

The reason for these type of questions is to get you to think about your personal evaluation of yourself and others, so as to have the right mindset for creating your wealth and happiness. See also “What kind of life is this?

Because there is a story of a vineyard owner who before he was to go on a journey distributed his money to his staff:

To one worker he gave five gold coins, to another he gave two gold coins and to the last he gave one gold coin…

When he returned from his travels to find that the most faithful employees had doubled their coins.

Whereas the unfaithful employee who was more concerned with how the owner had earned his wealth – can you serve two ‘gods’; had buried his coin because of fear and envy, thereby achieving nothing with their gift.

You can do something to change your life with the gifts that you have been given, by increasing your value to yourself and others.

Hey Mags, I don’t believe that money should be served by anyone. It is a tool to help improve your life but you shouldn’t be a slave to it. On the other hand I don’t serve a God either. I do believe in keeping my life balanced and using the overflow from that to help others.

Your site is layed out well and very informative. Keep up the good posts.

      Hi Helen,
The “Gods” quote represents the ‘power of’ and thereby asking the question; who do we serve?
Some people see money as the ultimate in their lives and some see their “Gods” as the ultimate.
So the question is asked and everyone will have their own opinion depending on what they regard as the power that sustains them.
The reason for the post is to evoke thought on the acquisition of wealth and as you said a balanced mindset.
I know that you believe in spirits and this is spoken of at the beginning of the posts:

“There is a test that comes with modern-day life, in that poverty is accompanied by physical dangers and prosperity is accompanied by spiritual dangers.”

I am sure you will agree that in some of your fables, there are references to the dangers of the prosperous ones and their spiritual battles.

Thanks for taking the time to voice your opinion as it is very much appreciated.
Please Visit again as we would love to engage with you on other topics.
      Best wishes.
      Mags.
